Smart Tint® Custom Templates Submission Requirements
We accept two types of templates.
1. Digital Templates
2. Physical Templates.
Instructions are below.
When submitting custom-cut templates for Smart Tint®, please adhere to the following requirements:
1. Digital Templates Submission Requirements
1a. Adobe Illustrator (.AI) File (Cut File)
• Exact To-Scale Outline: The template must be an exact, to-scale outline of the desired shape.
• First File (Cut File): An Adobe Illustrator (.AI) file containing the precise outline of the panel for cutting.
Whatever is inside this file will be exactly what is cut.
• 1pt Black Line Stroke: Use a 1pt black line stroke for the cut file’s outline.
• Single Layer: The cut file must consist of only one layer.
• Continuous, Unbroken Path: Ensure the outline is a continuous, unbroken path with no separated corners, and that radii are intact.
1b. PDF File (Dimensions File)
- Image of the .AI file with the dimensions on the image so we can print out a 1:1 scale.
- Please indicate wire location and direction the wires will be exiting the film.
- Indicate front side and back side of shape.
- Indicate any specific notes.
To Submit:
- Upload your files and name your files your order number (AB#-) & email your Project Manager a copy of the files. Upload Link
2. Physical Templates Submission Requirements
- For physical mail-in templates:
- Mail templates to:
- 2168 Nesconset Highway, Stony Brook, NY 11790
- Ensure that the AB# (Order Number) is clearly drawn on the box and inside the packaging.
- Indicate the wire location.
- Indicate which side is being installed that is touching the glass.
- Email your project manager the tracking number for the package.
No templates will be accepted without an AB# (Order Number).
