How to Measure for Smart Film®

In order to determine how much smart film you need for your order you must send us the dimensions of each glass surface and the quantity required. Please note: We will send you shop drawings to confirm all final cut measurements / install tolerances and provided engineering time to review your preferred wire locations after your project deposit has been received.  For quoting purposes simply calculate the total square footage of the visible glass area you wish to cover with our technology. Measurements do not need to be exact at this stage of the order process.

Measure Your Glass

Measure the length and width of the area in inches, then multiply those two numbers together to get the square footage in square inches; remember that 1 square foot is equal to 144 square inches, so to convert from square inches to square feet, divide the square inch measurement by 144.

Measure Your Straight Window

Most windows have straight sides, making them easy to measure. First measure the glass from left to right to obtain the width. Next measure the glass from top to bottom to get the length.

Measuring a Rounded Window

To calculate the square footage simply measure the square or rectangle your custom shaped window glass fits in.

You will need to order a rectangular piece of smart film and then cut the circle out of it. Measure the full width and length of the circle. If the circle is symmetrical, these measurements should be the same and can be cut from a square.
